Charity Day A Success
Benefits Hospice & Food Bank
Rossmoor’s annual Charity Day on August 18 brought out golfers, sponsors and friends. The proceeds from the day’s activities will go to Bruns House Hospice. Additionally, participants contributed food and donations to the Contra Costa Food Bank.

Special thanks goes to Creekside Grill for the hot dog lunch and Prime Rib dinner, and to Kathy Kavanaugh from Bruns House who spoke at dinner about the caring services and patient experiences at Bruns House.

Peggy Yamada and Sue Fleck, who chaired the event with a committee of lady golfers, would like to thank the sponsors of the tournament and the donors of raffle prizes. Without them the effort wouldn’t have been nearly as successful.

Gold tee sponsors were: AAA Walnut Creek, Byron Park, Creekside Grill, Julia Lee, DDS, Manor Care, Mike’s Auto Body, Rossmoor Realty, Stratford at Countrywood, VIP Golf Cart Service, and U.S. Bank.
Silver tee sponsors were: Eldercare Services, Julia Patil, DDS Like New Jewelry Repair, Old Republic Title, Quality Choice Funding, Walnut Creek Heating & Air.

Wonderful raffle prizes were donated by Crow Canyon Country Club, Tilden Park Golf Course, Graeagle Golf Course, Honda of Walnut Creek, Quail Lodge Golf, Lafayette Car Wash and Detail Center, Sittin’ Pretty Golf Seat Covers, Keppler’s Golf Repair, Jackie Bateman, Casey Dixon, Rossmoor’s Professionals Golfers Mark Heptig, Wayne Weckerlin, and Rob Lytle, Susan Maguire Facial, Lavande Foot Massage, Paper Source, Three Brothers from China, Dragon 2000, Ron Gilbin (timeshare in Mexico), and The Cheese Steak Shop.

First place winners of the golf tournament were: Flight One- Janice and Rodger Davis, William and Michael Wettig, Hal and Pat Deisem, and Mitzi Weinberg and Linda Scheffer. Closest to the Hole awards went to: Sharon Kiley, #16, Don Terry #16, Barbara Crane #2, and Sam Choo #2.
