Twenty-eight golfers played the first round of the 2016 Club Championship on August 18. The 54-hole stroke play tournament is played over three days, concluding on August 25. A celebratory lunch and awards will take place after golf on that day.
Players are divided into three flights: Championship, Flight One, and Flight Two. The first round play resulted in some excellent scores.
Leaders are: Championship Flight: Janice Davis and Agnes Shin tied at 89; Grace Nitta 91.
First Flight: Theresa Kim 90; Margo Dutton 93; Anna Kim, Cletia Bowron, and Del Poirier tied at 95.
Second Flight: Karin Romack 93; Joan Baggett 95; and Vanida Nalamlieng, 97.
Birdies were recorded by Margo Dutton #16, Chun Kim, #10, Grace Nitta #15, and Kathleen Young #10. Final results will be reported in the August 31 issue of The News.
