The Rossmoor Women’s 18ers Tournament Chair Denise Pratt has been organizing a fun assortment of games for Thursday play days. June 29th was a Nassau game with players competing to win low net on the front nine holes of Dollar Ranch, the back nine holes, and of course the overall low net. Twenty-seven players came out to play and there were two flights. First flight winners were Chong Harney won overall with a net 69, Joan Baggett won the front nine with a net 34, and Joyce McCann won the back nine with a net 35. Second flight winners were Robin Moreau won overall with a net 70, Pat Diesem won the front nine with a net 36, and Shin Kim won the back nine with a net 31.
It was a big day for birdies with Robin Moreau on hole 7, Nancy Groswird on hole 16, Chong Harney on holes 7 and 13, Joan Baggett on hole 9, Joan Munn on hole 14, and Joanne Kim on hole 10. Claudia Terry had a chip-in on hole 9 and Shin Kim chipped in on hold 5.
The game on July 6th was a par point tournament (modified Stableford) with winners in the first flight: Grace Nitta 1st place with 39 points, Joanne Kim 2nd place with 39 points, Jane Lee 3rd place with 38 points, and Anna Kim 4th place with 38 points. Second flight winners: Pil Choo 1st place with 43 points, Shin Kim 2nd place with 38 points, Carole Geoghegan 3rd place with 37 points, and Ai Soon Hong 4th place with 36 points.
Chip ins were shot by Sue Yoon on hole 18, Nancy Groswird on holes 7 and 12, and Ai Soon Hong on hole 3. Sue Yoon also got a birdie on hole 15.
