Yuko Tsang a member of the ladies 18 hole golf club sank her first hole-in-one on the Creekside Golf Course on August 5.  Yuko used a Callaway 6 iron and a Titleist golf ball to sink this shot on hole 7. The hole-in-one was witnessed by Yan Sun a member of the lady 9er golf club. Congratulations to Yuko.
Claudia Terry, while playing with the Diablo Valley Team Play at Castlewood Country Club, on Monday, August 7 landed an eagle on the 398 yard par 5 on hole number 5. Claudia’s playing partner was Sally Tomlinson and two ladies from Diablo Country Club. One of the opponents was on the green when Claudia hit her 75 yard third shot up to the elevated green. She could not see the ball go into the hole but heard it drop in from below. The shot, observed by the Diablo player, went straight into the hole and did not roll on the green. Claudia was using her pitching wedge. This was a very exciting accomplishment to be observed by her teammate and opponents as well.
Thursday, August 3 the 18er ladies played in their annual Blue and White Tournament. Players are matched up by the golf shop with ladies having similar handicaps. They are then put on either a Blue or White team. This year’s winners were the Blue team and for that honor the White team paid for their hot dog lunch. Cletia Bowron and her committee of Vanida Nalamlieng provided a fun day of golf and lunch afterward. Special thanks also go to John Bowron and Gordon VanVlett who Barbequed the hot dogs. Once again congratulations to Cletia and her committee for a wonderful picnic.
