Last Thursday members of the Rossmoor Women’s 18 hole Golf Club and their guests enjoyed the Hawaiian themed golf event.

80 players dressed for the Hawaiian theme competed in three flights.

Phil Cho and Helen Chung, chairwomen, for the event chose a two best net ball format. Following golf the ladies enjoyed a delicious lunch along with awards at the event center.

The air conditioning was a welcome change from the tropical heat.

Director of Golf, Mark Heptig and PGA Assistant Wayne Weckerlin tallied the scores and
made the presentations to the winners.

Winners from the three flights were:
Kauai Flight – 1st with a 127 score were Grace Lee, Helen Choi, Juna Lee and Nanch Seol Park, 2nd with a 128 score were Soonee Kim, Theresa Kim, Yong Choo and Anne Su and 3rd with a 130 score were Nancy Groswird, Marva Nielsen, Sue Daughtrey and Barbara Nilson.

Maui Flight – 1st with a 123 score were Joan Baggett, Linda Pritchett, Maryjean Kidd and Xan Halog, 2nd with a 132 score (better back nine score to break tie) were Jean Charlesworth, Laura Lippoow, Marilyn King and Teruko Lapierre, 3rd with a 132 score were Janet Kinney, Teddi Swanson, Joan Upshaw and Gretchen Zaballor.

Oahu Flight – 1st with a 123 score were Patricia Taylor, Kathleen Young, Susan Sockol and Janet White, 2nd with a 125 score (better back nine score to break tie )were Jodi Rice, Dong Dong- Dong, Kendra Diamond and Louis Chien, 3rd with a 125 score were Charlene Gonzalez, Maureen Wilhelm, Melinda Hall and Robin Machette.

The 18er ladies thank Pil and Helen for a fun golf guest day as well as the men from the men’s golf club who help transfer golf clubs from the Event Center to the golf carts. Further kudos go to Creekside Grill for preparing delicious meals and all the golf shop men along with the grounds crew for helping to ensure a wonderful golf guest day event.
